THIRSTY? Thirst for knowledge? You’ve come to the right place – we’re busy gearing up for the next Confidentials Drinks Club get-together, and you’re invited. Our exclusive CDC events give you the chance to sample and find out more about different drinks, with each evening focusing on a particular supplier we’ve handpicked especially for the occasion. 

So far, we’ve heard from Great Drams and tasted a selection of single cask whiskies from north of the border, we’ve tried Nicholas James Gin from Salford straight and as specially created cocktails, and, most recently, we’ve tasted Beeble’s honey whisky liqueur on its own and as a whisky and ginger, a classic whisky sour and a contemporary espresso martini.

We host our events in some of Manchester’s best venues, such as Ancoats’ cool audiophile restaurant and bar NAM, hideaway Wood & Co in the city centre’s King Street Quarter and speakeasy 1837 downstairs at the Corn Exchange. We get the place to ourselves so it’s perfect for a night of sipping, socialising and swapping tasting notes.

Next up, we’re at the oasis of calm that is the Northern Quarter’s recently opened flora-adorned Alvarium garden bar. Our fourth Confidentials Drinks Club takes place on the evening of Thursday 11 July, when we’ll be joined by Scottish distilling experts Rock Rose Gin, sampling five of their special creations and learning a little about the Rock Rose Gin family.

The handcrafted premium Scottish gin Rock Rose is created from botanicals local to the Caithness distillery, carefully chosen for flavour, and this event will give you the chance to try four of the Rock Rose Gin line-up – Rock Rose Original Gin, Rock Rose Navy Strength Gin, Rock Rose Pink Grapefruit Old Tom Gin and Rock Rose Summer Gin – along with sister brew Holy Grass Vodka, each drink served with a bespoke glass and garnish. All this is just £20 – meaning each tipple works out at just £4 each. You’re welcome.
