The rapper will join Frank Ocean, The 1975 and a Tribe Called Quest at Heaton Park
FOLLOWING a blistering performance alongside Ed Sheeran at last night's BRITS Awards, UK Grime star Stormzy has been revealed as the latest addition to this year's Parklife festival in Heaton Park (10-11 June).
With his hotly anticipated debut album Gang Signs & Prayers due for release on Friday 24 February and on target to reach No.1, Stormzy has become one of the hottest names in UK music, selling out his upcoming UK tour in a matter of minutes.
Parklife boss Sacha Lord told Confidential: "We've known about Stormzy playing Parklife for weeks, and I've nearly let is slip on a few occasions.
"With his sell-out tour and debut album on the way, he is undoubtedly one of the biggest and most exciting acts around right now."

The 6ft 5in Croydon rapper - real name Michael Omari Jr - will join American R&B trailblazer Frank Ocean, Mercury Prize-nominated Cheshire rockers The 1975, legendary hip-hop collective A Tribe Called Quest and veteran DJ Fatboy Slim at the top of the festival bill.
Other notable acts include Grammy Award-winning Jess Glynne, disco icon Chaka Khan, Boy Better Known, Two Door Cinema Club, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, George Ezra, Carl Cox, Damian Marley, Jamie Jones, London Grammar, Pete Tong,Wiley, Seth Troxler and experimental US producer Flying Lotus – who’ll be showcasing his pioneering 3D show (you can see the full Parklife 2017 line-up below).
A sell-out crowd of 160,000 people are expected to attend the festival - now in its eighth year. Previous headline acts include The Chemical Brothers, Jamie XX, Snoop Dog, Disclosure, Calvin Harris, Plan B and Rudimental.
General entry tickets cost £59.50 for the day/£96.50 for the weekend, whilst access to the Planet VIP area – which this year carries a ‘Return to New York’ theme with special performances, secret spaces and live art battles – will cost £85 for the day/£125 for the weekend.
Festival goers will be able to purchase the last remaining tickets for this year’s festival from 6pm on Thursday 23 February (ticketing info at parklife.uk.com).
