It may have proven a controversial year for Manchester Pride but the LGBTQ festival remains more photogenic than an airbrushed supermodel. And, with a cooperative Mother Nature cracking those (rainbow) flags across the whole long weekend, performers and revellers alike could show off their colours under blue bank holiday skies.
As ever, the Gay Village Party saw crowds throng Canal Street and surrounds, while Saturday’s parade - this year inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots - put on an eye-popping show for tens of thousands of spectators.
Over at Mayfield, the new Pride Live made its debut with a star-studded line-up - including Ariana Grande, Years & Years and Emeli Sandé - while the candlelit vigil saw a reflective finale in Sackville Gardens.
