To mark the new store opening, Jenessa Williams styles the classic brand
A few things come to mind when you think of Timberland. For me, it’s Drake doing his best leg wobble in the ‘Hotline Bling’ music video, or if you prefer your references more old school, Jennifer Lopez rocking her best bling in ‘Jenny From The Block”. And then of course there is the checked shirt and axe of a lumberjack, or the dust of a construction site. Synonymous with rap culture as much as they are the great outdoors, there is no denying that these classic boot-makers have a name that is known worldwide.
What you may not know, however, is that Timberland produce much more than the traditional worker boot. Having flung open their doors on Albion Street last month, the brand are working hard to prove that they have a shoe for every occasion. Focusing primarily on menswear for the time being, the bricks and mortar store is chockfull of footwear, t-shirts and outwear galore, perfect for the upcoming season.

Boys Meets Girl
A fashion-forward homage to the retro worker style, try something a little more modern with the Heritage Lite Nellie Chukka Boot in red (£120), coming up shorter on the ankle for a less chunky finish. Pair with loose-fitting dungarees, then flash a little midriff and décolletage in a simple black crop underneath. The final, feminizing touches are all in the accessories – a tartan scrunchie for a touch of 90s, and a glossy red lip that matches the boots.

Stevie’s Kicks
Channel your inner bohemian layer-player this autumn with a statement maxi dress. Timberland’s ‘Eleonor’ Chelsea boot is the perfect height to compliment the hemline, offering day-to-night vibes without compromising on comfort.
With this look, more is definitely more; add in a western-inspired tassel jacket, statement necklace, side bag and finish off with a dramatic smoky eye - we love orange and yellow tones for this season.

Don’t Mess With Yorkshire
Yorkshire folk know the benefits of a good sturdy trainer that will withstand a chilly winter. A thick-soled style like the Amherst is a solid option, requiring little maintenance due to its all-purpose khaki shade.

Green with Envy
Ideal for taking a casual office dress code right through to an evening with the girls, this look makes use of the LeslieAnna Decollete Shoe, a play on the classic court that offers the holy grail of height and comfort. A slogan t-shirt dresses down a preppy skirt, and the coloured jacket ties the colours together without the matchy-matchyness of a traditional co-ord. Acid brights are showing no sign of fading this season, so don’t be afraid to experiment with an accent of nail polish or coloured eyeliner.

Suited And Boated
The humble boat shoe – flattering no matter your gender, often sported in summer with a chino and a bare ankle. As the weather draws in, please cover your feet – the ‘Classic Two Eye’ look great with a peep of sock.
